A couple weekends ago, my sister-in-law invited us to the pumpkin patch with her husband and kids — what a fun day!
I was little nervous before we left, just because it can be a little stressful going for a long day trip with a baby. There is so much stuff to pack and think about ahead of time, like when/where will he nap. Will he nap? Am I going to have to breastfeed in public? Did I bring enough food? Luckily, everything worked out perfectly. Abel napped during the whole car ride there, so he was nice and rested and ready to have fun when we arrived. I was so relieved because he normally isn’t a great on-the-go napper. I’ve worked so hard to make sure he likes sleeping in his crib and has a good naptime routine at home that he doesn’t always do well sleeping away from home (something we’ll have to work on I guess).
The pumpkin patch was great. Abel loved seeing the goats, cows, and horses. And of course, as soon as we got there I plopped him down in the middle of all the pumpkins and started snapping a billion photos. They had several tractors driving around pulling wagons and trains that people could ride in, so he loved watching those go around and around. He’s obsessed with anything that has wheels right now.
We ate lunch there, picked out some pumpkins to bring home, and Abel got to spend lots of time with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. It was a pretty perfect fall day.
Now we’re gearing up for Halloween, as I’m sure you all are. I can’t wait to get this little guy all dressed up in his costume. We have a couple of trick-or-treating events to go to that are geared toward families and young kids, so it should be a blast. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
